The KeptScore Report · updated 2026-10-27
Companies announce deadlines. We checked 5,113 of them.
The KeptScore measures one thing: how often a company delivers its own dated public commitments by the date it set itself. Before any company’s score is published, here is what the record shows for the market as a whole.
Headline findings
Population: S&P 500 members (current and former, 2016 onward). 8,976 commitments from 627 companies; 5,113 with a clear outcome. Across every company KeptIndex tracks (2,310, including smaller listed companies) the on-time rate is 71.5%. Entries with no public record either way are left out: silence never counts against a company.

When company KeptScores are published
A company receives a public KeptScore only once it has at least 15 confirmed outcomes with deadlines in the last three years. Today 102 companies in this population already exceed that depth across the full record since 2016, and KeptIndex is now reading 2024–2026 filings to fill the current three-year window. The method is set out in advance in KeptScore Methodology 2.0, open for comment.
